Hotel La Malvasía

La Malvasía Boutique Hotel in the Andalusian village of El Rocío, is situated on the edge of Doñana Natural Park and provides peace and quiet while the beaches are still within reach. The “LaBoca” restaurant, located in La Malvasía, is a must while you are staying at the hotel, or maybe just passing by and need a refreshing lunch or dinner. Each meal is created with eclectic and revolutionary flavors by the Chef de cuisine,  and is presented in a modern, minimalistic style. Don’t forget to complement your meal with a sip of delicious and authentic Spanish wine! Breakfast is great and can be served on a terrace with a fabulous view and absolute tranquility.

Is it beginning to sound appealing yet? Well, there is more! El Rocío also carries out old traditions that originate from the 13th century. There is a local story of a hunter who saw the Virgin Mary in a tree trunk. This is now where the famous “Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Rocío” is located. The sanctuary is the center of the El Rocío Pilgrimage that takes place each year during Pentecost. This event is full of cheer, dance, and Sevillanas Rocieras (songs about the pilgrimage)! However, if you’d rather come to admire nature, the incredibly rich local biodiversity, including the rarely seen Spanish lynx and the colorful migration of more than 270 species of birds (and you were wondering where the ornithology would come into the picture?) is all you need, and the list of activities can even be longer! In La Malvasía you can also benefit from other services such as horseback riding in the sandy roads, excursions in 4x4, or even a whole day spent in the Rociero way with horses, live music, and excellent regional cuisine.

Although there is some walking between sites, the village is small and can be crossed in just a few minutes.
